Day 1: Arrival and Pick up

The first day in Morocco desert tours from Marrakech will pick you up at your arrival terminal to proceed to checking you in the hotel. Depending on the arrival time we will take a short tour around Marrakech city centre.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Morocco desert tours from Marrakech

After breakfast we will investigate Marrakech, known as “the red city of Morocco”. We will guarantee you see the historical Moroccan and cultural heritage sites, including the Majorelle Gardens and the Koutoubia Tower. Additionaly, we will continue our day exploring the famous Saadian tombs and the Bahia Palace. After lunch, we’ll go out for a stroll through the souks and whatever remains of the day will be for your relaxation.

Day 3: Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate & Dades Valley

After breakfast, we will begin our Marrakech to Merzouga Desert adventure. Our local guide will pick you in a 4×4 vehicle to travel towards the Dades valley. On the way, we will pass through the Tizi-n-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains. Similarly, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This historical site is famous for its appearance in several films including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and Alexander The Great of Morocco desert tours from Marrakech.

After lunch, we will appreciate Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and the Roses valley. Truth be told this valley is well known for its yearly Festival of Roses. Furthermore, we will visit the Berber towns of El Kelaa des M’Gouna to finally reach Dades valley, where we will spend the night in a Moroccan house.

Day 4: Dades Valley, Todra Gorges & Merzouga Desert

Today we will head with our 4×4 vehicle towards Merzouga, which is known for the most noteworthy sand dunes in North Africa. The area we are visiting is called Erg Chebbi Sahara Dunes and it is around 32 km long and 9 km wide. On our way, we will have the opportunity to see numerous desert sites, for example, the desert garden of Tinjdad. We will also visit little Berber towns of Mellab and Touroug, where we can taste an authentic Moroccan lunch. After this break, we will continue appreciating the green desert palm trees of Tafilalet before arriving at our desert base in Merzouga. Once we arrive, you will be accommodated in a traditional Moroccan riad.

Day 5: Merzouga, Erg Chebbi & Camel Trekking

Today, we will explore the area visiting the famous desert nomads in the ‘town of the blacks’, to encounter their music and way of life. After, we will drive in the desert to meet migrant families-living in Berber tents, where we will get to taste local Berber food. On this tour, you will have the alternative to also visit the old city of Rissani – the establishment of the Alaouite dynasty – the present ruling family in Morocco. Rissani is encompassed by 360 ksar (numerous towers) and has a major souk (an open market), held three times each week.

Furthermore, we will drive back to Merzouga to enjoy a unique sunset during the evening on a relaxing camel trekking tour to investigate what is amidst the most highest sand dunes in Morocco. The camel trek towards the desert camp takes around 1hr 30 min, where you will enjoy during the night eating local dinner and watching the stars before resting in your nomad luxury tent.

Day 6: Merzouga, Draa Valley & Ouarzazate

Before dawn, we will wake up to climb the sand dunes for awesome photograph opportunities and to watch a unique sunrise in the desert. We will then head back to the riad for shower and breakfast. Before we proceed to our next destination Ouarzazate. We will also pass through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob, and the fabulous Draa Valley. We will spend the night in a house in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate, High Atlas Mountains & Marrakech

After breakfast we will travel back to Marrakech. We will go through the marvellous High Atlas mountains again and we will drop you off at your hotel in Marrakech. In your final day, your Morocco Safaris tour guide will organise the schedule to drop you off the airport and will attend to any last requests.

Day 8: Airport Transfer
