Day 1 desert tour Marrakech, Tizi’n’Tichka Pass, Ouarzazate & Zagora

The first day, we will start this desert tour Marrakech by picking you up from your lodging in Marrakech early in the morning. Our first stop in this 2 day journey, is the High Atlas mountains, which we will access using the Tizi N’Tichka pass. We will have plenty of time to stop at the locations to explore and take pictures.

On the way to Ksar, the town of Ait Ben Haddou, we will see numerous Berber towns. On arrival, we will visit the renowned Kasbah (announced World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). A unique location where famous movies have been shot, for example The Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile.

In addition, we will stop to have lunch nearby. After lunch, we will continue our journey to the Desert of Zagora through the High Atlas Mountains. On arrival to Zagora, we will begin our journey riding our camels towards the desert camp. The camel trekking ride takes around an hour and we will get to experience a unique sunset in the desert. Furthermore, we will enjoy typical local food with a wonderful show of drums and live Berber music. Tonight, we will sleep in the desert camp in luxury tents under the stars.

Day 2 Zagora Desert, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou & Marrakech

On our last day, we will wake up early to watch the sunrise on top of a dune. After breakfast, we will return back to Zagora on our last camel ride. Furthermore, in Zagora we will drive in our 4×4 vehicle towards the Draa Valley. We will get to view the lovely green scenery of the valley and enjoy the Draa waterway, which is the longest in Morocco crossing the entire nation of Mauritania to end in the Atlantic Ocean.

In addition, we will go through the High Atlas Mountains to arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will visit Taourirt Kasbah. Similarly, we will visit the cinema studios and the museum.

Finally, we will begin the path back to Marrakech. We will first stop at Tizi’n’Tichka for lunch before completing our 2 day tour visit. Furthermore, we will continue our journey of 2 hours arrving at Marrakech.
