Your tour with Morocco Safaris begins once you arrive at Casablanca, where we will pick you up. In Casablanca, explore the unique Hassan II Mosque known to be, the largest mosque in Morocco. In addition, we will visit Rabat to discover the Oudaya Kasbah and the Hassan Tower before arriving at our overnight riad at the heart of the Medina.
After breakfast todays adventure will consist of a visit to Chefchaouen. Our first stop will be Asilah, where you will have the chance to explore the city. Asilah is known for it yearly celebration of art. The majority of the walls in the Medina are painted by popular artists. Similarly, we will visit the Skalla fortification with its unique views of the Medina and the sea. If there is enough time, our guides will drive you through Tanger to get a feel of the city. Subsequently, our guide will proceed to the lower regions of the Rif Mountains to visit Chefchaouen. We will stay overnight in a traditional Moroccan riad.
Today after breakfast, we will visit “The blue city of Morocco”. Chefchaouen is a mesmerising city that has flooded social media with photos of its white walls and blue doors. In the afternoon, you will be able to discover and wander like a local exploring its unique alleyways and architecture. Our overnight stay will be in the same riad.
After breakfast in the riad, we will head towards Fes visiting the Roman ruins of Volubilis. The ruins are well preserved and its construction dates to 225 BC. During our guided voyage through the ruins we will learn more about the Roman Empire and its influence in Morocco. Furthermore, we will travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco. In Meknes we will discover the gate of Bab Mansour originally made by the sultan Ismail. Similarly, we will visit the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum. In addition, after visiting Meknes we will continue towards the “Spiritual city of Fes”, where we will sleep overnight at a traditional riad in the medina.
After breakfast, we will spend the entire morning with the tour guides investigating the Medina and its alleyways. Our local guide will make sure you visit all the cultural and historical sites. Including the visit to Al Karaouine Mosque, the oldest University in the world, the Medrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries and the Najjarine fountains. After lunch, our guide will drive you to the Medina to observe the Royal Palace gates. We will stay at the same riad in Fes.
Following breakfast, we will head towards southeast Morocco to Merzouga. Your first stop will be at Ifran, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and after we will stop at Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this excursion we will enjoy the views of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. We will stop for a break in the popular cedar woods, known to be the largest of Morocco, where we will be able to see the local primates.
After lunch in Midelt, we will proceed to visit the Ziz Valley stopping regularly for breaks and taking pictures. We will drive through Berber towns to Erfoud, and after that to Rissani arriving at our last destination for the day in Merzouga, where we will be invited to a glass of mint tea before you registering with our riad in Merzouga.
Today we will explore the region of Merzouga meeting the Gnawa individuals to encounter their traditions and music. From that point onward, we will drive to the desert territory, where we will have the chance to meet the nomad families still living in berber tents. Today our lunch will be a neighborhood feast with a local Berber family. Similarly, we will visit the souk in Rissani, which is a traditional town. Towards the evening we will begin our camel ride to explore the sand dunes of Merzouga. Tonight you will stay at our luxury desert camp, where we will have traditional supper.
Today we will rise early and wake you up to watch a unique sunrise on the sand dunes of the Sahara. Furthermore, we will trek back to Merzouga, whilst appreciating the unique Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After breakfast in your Merzouga riad, we will leave for Dades Valley, first visiting Todra Gorges. After lunch in the Todra Gorges, we will have plenty of time to trek and visit the old mud towns. Furthermore, we will proceed to Dades Valley, where you will have the chance to visit sand castles. We will stay overnight in a riad on the top of the Valley.
After breakfast, we will head towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. On the way we will drive through the famous route of the “Thousand Kasbahs” with numerous chances to take some of the best photographic shots of the trek. We will have plenty of time to visit the rich Rose valley and the stone developments on the way. We’ll stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city”, to buy its famous rosewater.
Furthermore, we will proceed to Skoura and the birds valley. Also will also visit the Kasbah Ameridil, a very well preserved Kasbah followed by some light hiking in the valley. We will stop for lunch at a conventional moroccan restaurant with views to the entire valley. and will have the opportunity to meet nomad families living in the valley. After lunch, we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate known, as “the Hollywood of Africa”. Its scenery and breathtaking views has attracted world class producers and film makers. Our overnight stay will be a in a traditional Moroccan riad.
Early morning, after breakfast we will head towards Marrakech using the high altitude Tizi’N’Tichka roads. During our journey we will stop at the largest Kasbah in Morocco known to be Ait Ben Haddou built in the 19th century. Furthermore, we will continue through the Tizi’n’tichka roads in the high Atlas mountain before arriving in Marrakech. We will spend the night in a riad in the oldest medina of Morocco.
After breakfast, we will explore “the Red City of Morocco” Marrakech. Our guide will make sure you visit all the cultural and traditional sites during the viist. The visit will include Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian tombs; the Palace of Bahia and the Ben Youssef Coranic School. We will have lunch at restaurant close to the square and in the evening we will embark in a unique visit to the Majorelle Gardens. Similarly, we will also visit the new city of Marrakech after having discovered the old town. Our overnight stay will be in our riad.
The hectic and buzzing Marrakech rapidly disappears as we head towards the peaceful and magnificent town of Essaouira. Voyagers and travellers from everywhere throughout the world come here to encounter the extraordinary climate. Additionally, they come to investigate its diverse and special history. As we leave Marrakech, we drive through lavish valleys loaded with orange groves. Furthermore, we will stop at the olive plantations and farms on the drive along the coast.
Along the way we will also start to see Argan trees known for their nutritive, restorative and various therapeutic properties. The tree, a relic species from the Tertiary age is adjusted to dry season and its currently protected by the UNESCO. Finally, we will arrive at Essaouira, where we will wander the old lanes imagining what life was like in the olden ages. The lanes have a truly Portuguese feel. The city was renamed in the sixteenth century and became a port city of its own. We will stay overnight in a traditional riad.
We still exploring the city of Essaouira after breakfast. We will also visit the Skala Fortress, see the Thuya woods carved by artisans and walk through the alleyways of the medina. Our lunch will consist of fresh fish, which is cooked upon order. In the evening, we will be able to go to the beach and wander around the coastal city. Essaouira is known to be the “City of Wind”, which brings wind surfers from all over the world to practice their sport. Essaouira architecture has been influenced by Portuguese occupation. We will stay in a riad in Essaouira.
After breakfast, we will drop you off at the Casablanca airport for your departure flight, which marks the end of this morocco tours casablanca.
