In your first day of fes desert excursions you will leave Fes to start traveling towards Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz valley. We will drive via Ifrane, a beautiful mountain village, recognised as the Switzerland of Morocco. Here we will stop at the cedar forest on the Atlas Mountains. On the way we will have glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Furthermore, we will stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco. Moreover, we will continue to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas.
After lunch in Midelt of fes desert excursions, we will drive in our 4×4 vehicle through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the spectacular Ziz Gorges. We will have breathtaking views of the High Atlas plateau with plenty of time to stop for photographs. Observe how the scenery changes as we approach the desert in the the province of the south-east Errachidia city. We will travel along the fantastic Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Finally arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before checking into your riad.
After breakfast in your riad, we will explore the area of Merzouga beginning our camel ride. We will visit the Gnawa individuals, initially from Mali, Senegal and Sudan, who live in their town Khamlia. We will find out about their music and their way of life. Furthermore, we will proceed to eat a conventional berber supper (Berber pizza). Later on you will have the choice likewise to visit the old city of Rissani, the establishment of the Alaouite administration. Indeed Rissani is surrounded by around 360 ksar (fortified towers) and has a major souk (an open market), held three times each week.
Once called Sijilmassa, you will stroll through the souk filled with flavours, vegetables and garments. In the evening, we will return to Merzouga with a relaxing sunset camel trek. Guided by an accomplished camel guide to investigate the most astounding sand dunes in Morocco. At last, dinner will be served in the tent, where you will spend the night.

Today, we will wake up early to observe the sunrise over the largest dunes in Morocco. Later we will trek back with our camelsto the village of Merzouga. On the way we will be able to appreciate the beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Changing shapes with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and hot shower, we will drive to Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges. In fact they are the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Then after lunch in the heart of the gorges we will drive through the Dades Valley, visiting all the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. In the night, we will stay at a fancy traditional guesthouse with the views of the Dades valley with dinner and breakfast.
Today, we will drive to the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. On the course to Dades Valley we will drive to the roads of the thousand kasbahs. It gives various chances to take some of your best photographic shots of the excursion. So today we will have the chance to visit a nomad family in the mountains. At that point we’ll stop at Kalaa Mgouna “the rose city” to buy the rosewater. Furthermore, we will travel to Skoura, where we will visit the Kasbah Ameridil.
Lunch will be in a customary Moroccan restaurant with the views of the excellent valley, at that point it’s on to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, wonderful scenery that has attracted numerous world class film makers. Today we will continue our journey to Marrakech. First, we will visit the the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. Furthermore, our 4×4 Morocco tour will continue through the majestic Tizi n’tichka Pass at 2260 metres of altitude in the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. On the way, we will stop to learn the process of making argan oil made in Morocco by the Berber women in their cooperatives. Finally getting to the imperial city of Marrakech, where we will drop you off at the airport depending on flight departure time.
